Had breakfast with Doug Lindstrand the other day and when I got him and his friend off of the subject of golf (pasture pool!) I asked him when he's putting out another book so anybody that uses Doug's books for research fotos artwork of wildlife he will be putting out a new book soon. One of the pieces is a sow bear w/3cubs. The sow died about a mile from my house, everybody did what they could to keep her alive but whe was old and 3 cubs were too much for her.

So - keep your eyes open it's going to be another good one!

Were you in Alaska? My wife and I went to Alaska on our honeymoon. During a trip to Denali by train we decided to take hire a van to take us back to Anchorage. When we were on our way back the van driver got sick and pulled over in a hurry, ran into the store and everybody was left on the van wondering what was happening. Well it turned out that this stop was the one where Doug Lindstrand had lived at for some time accoding to the lady in side. They had autograph copies of his book, hwich I scooped up, and many of his works. This woman said he had lived in a tent in the lot for sometime then got a camper.

Apparently we just missed being able to meet Doug by a meer 30 minutes.

What is he like? How did he get started?

Best Regards,

Bill (Bujalino)

Doug lives about 1/2 mile from me, we have lunch/breakfast with him occaisionally se frequent the same wide spot in the road.

He's a quiet sort of guy about 5'8" not too big likes to play golf good sense of humor. But as far as living in that tent - that was some 30 yeas ago. He still goes up there for sketching but he is not as young as he once was. On Alaska terms - it might take him all of a hour to kill a bear with his knife, he's slowing down.

I really don't know what you are looking for here.

Hi Debbie,

I'm a distant cousin of Doug Lindstrand. His dad and my mother's dad are first cousins. Both came to USA from Sweden. I've never met Doug, but am interested in doing so. My wife and I will be on an Alaska cruise in June 2009. We'll be staying in Anchorage the night before and then taking the train down to Seward the next morning. Do you know how I could reach him? I would appreciate any help you can offer.

Thank you.

Bruce
