Do's anyone know what "bio hazards" cow bone poses (it’s my first time using it) and one of my lecturer wants to know the details for heath and safety resones (I did all the proper preparation boiling in water for 2 hours the detergent for another 1. washing my hands with anti bactira wash between toching the bone it the early stages) and then sun drying it for 2 days before use. Is there anything else I should have done in the sterilisation process?

Thanks for any information

One should not breath the dust while working, as with any other materials, especially mother-of pearl. Do a SEARCH for how others prepare bone for working. The forum has had discussions about preparation.

Have some fun!

My preferred method for preparing bone is to have $10 or so ready in hand, make a trip to the pet store, and buy pre-prepared bones that have been perfectly boiled and cleaned. I have a small supply of perfectly clean solid white bones, with no marrow or fatty material, each about 6 inches long that were purchased from the local pet food supplier for about $2 each.
