Janel
Hi folks, I am in the last hours before departure on Monday for Philadelphia and then Washington, DC. I will return after the DC show. My iPad will be with me to monitor the forum and to handle email. On with the shows! Janel

Janel
One show down and one to go! A surprise bonus day off, ahead. I thought that the set up for the second show was Wednesday but after reading the show info again, I see that set up is Thursday. Yay! I might actually be able to see some things in DC! I've only seen things in Philadelphia out the bus windows and have otherwise been in a cement cave from about 8:30 a.m. to 9 something p.m. since last Tuesday. I did okay at this first one, with some new ideas received well, that were also sold. That is encouraging. I am pretty tired, but have tried to pace myself for the long haul. A fellow Carving Path member introduced himself today at the show. It is always fun to meet you folks when it happens! On to Washington, D.C. tomorrow! Janel
I am home. Tired yet ready to forge ahead through the holiday week of Thanksgiving. Then, into the studio to try to make sense of the experiences of the two shows in relation to the experiences of the past half decade, and what it means for my future work. It is time for home and family now. My warmest wishes to you all in the wonderful Carving Path family, for happiness and sharing as we anticipate the gatherings of families and friends as the holidays draw near, and as we move towards the end of this year anticipating the new one ahead. Janel
It is that time of year again. This time my husband and I will be traveling together and showing side by side at two shows. I/we have been working from awakening to midnight or later nearly every night for the last few months, trying to prepare for these events (plus the Fall Sale that occurred the first weekend of October at our studio). Such a busy year this has been, yet we feel that we are behind in our work. I am working on a piece that is now over 30 days at the bench, and I am fearful that I will not complete it by departure time. Arrrrgh! No pics of it for now. I chose to get lost in a complex piece after many years away from those pieces, and have enjoyed all the days of carving involvement, some have been of up to 10 hours of hands on tools and wood. I remain hopeful. The eyes, final determination about color and finish are all awaiting me at the studio. While away, I will look in on TCP from time to time.
