Janel
Recently I received an inquiry from someone who is interested in partnering with a maker of walking sticks. This is her statement: Saltmarsh Foundation is seeking a partnership with a woodworker / craftsperson to produce walking / hiking sticks to my design. Craftsperson must have access to premium-strength grade wood suitable for one inch dia. walking / hiking sticks for high traffic urban, outdoor and medical use, for people (min. 130 to 300 lbs.), available in four lengths: 48 / 50 / 52 / 54 inches. Saltmarsh expects to purchase completed design in multiples and reorder as needed. A scaled design drawing is prepared. Initial outlay for wood purchase by Saltmarsh. Saltmarsh logo is to be burned on the stick along with the artist's signature. Thus allowing the artist his art and Saltmarsh its marketing. Janel
Hi Dan, I was not given any more information than is presented above. She is interested in working with someone who can do repeatable, quality work that will endure steady use for years. I do not know the manner of making of the sticks that she has in mind, whether turned or hand carved. Her contact email address was included, so questions beyond the above statement need to be answered by her. I apologize for not having the answers you are seeking.
