How Do You Treat Bone?

I have recently done a cow bone carving sort of off the cuff without really preparing or looking into techniques etc. It worked out ok but it made me think about a few things, the above question being one of them. So how do you treat your bones?

With a little digging with the SEARCH function found at the upper right corner of the forum window, perhaps using "bone" as the search term, you will be able to read many topics about the use of bone.

 

That said, oil soaks in and changes the color, wax sits on the surface. Staining is another consideration to look into.
