I am interested in carving with a fixed mandrel as I have always been a tool packer..lol thankyou and i look forward to learning here. I have taken two classes from Mr. Friesen and they were very good. the book is a summary of his classes and the tools used. The fixed carving arbor that is used is available from Diamond Pacific, but if you can find the fordom polishing arbor and chuck from another vendor it will be cheaper.
